Former USC Coach Rod Dedeaux Named Collegiate Baseball's 'Coach of the Century'

LOS ANGELES -- Rod Dedeaux, the legendary former USC baseball coach who won an unprecedented 11 NCAA titles, was named the NCAA Division I "Coach of the Century" by Collegiate Baseball magazine in its April 3 issue.
Dedeaux had an overall record of 1,332-571-11 and won 28 conference championships in 45 years with the Trojans. From 1970-74, his teams won five straight NCAA titles. He coached more than 50 future big leaguers, including Tom Seaver, Fred Lynn, Dave Kingman, Mark McGwire and Randy Johnson. Dedeaux still serves as the Director of Baseball at USC.
