Manny Ramirez hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the sixth inning of Wednesday's Dodger game, and it's all Coach Carroll is talking about this morning.
"That's just classic Manny," said Carroll, who lit up after seeing the highlights this morning. "The anticipation of watching great players is so captivating. It's like watching a great running back -- you can't wait to see what he does next. And Manny's one of those guys. That's why I love him.
"It reminds me of the old days watching Willie Mays with the Giants."
Nursing a sore hand, Ramirez didn't take batting practice Wednesday and hit the very first pitch he saw into the left field seats to clinch a 6-2 Dodger victory.
