No. 7 USC and No. 14 Boston College met in the Elite Eight after each pulling off upsets in the previous round. While the Trojans knocked off host Florida, the Eagles smashed Syracuse to earn the right to host USC in Newton, MA.
The Eagles showed off their offensive firepower against the Trojans, scoring 20+ goals for the third straight game. USC trailed all game, but cut the deficit to three goals with 15 minutes left. The Trojans couldn't quite get over the hump, though, falling 20-14.
In their final game in Cardinal and Gold, seniors Drew Jackson (pictured) and Cynthia Del Core scored three goals each.
The Eagles keyed in on USC senior standout Michaela Michael, who finished the day with one goal, four draw controls and two ground balls. Michael goes out as USC's all-time leader in points (305), goals (234) and single-season goals (78 in 2017). She ranks second all-time in assists (71).
Michael helped the Trojans tally their second-highest win total in program history this season and their second straight NCAA Quarterfinal appearance. In the MPSF's final season sanctioning lacrosse, the Trojans finished atop the conference, and look to be Pac-12 favorites heading into next season.
