On Wednesday night, the Trojan Athletic Senate put on its first annual Faculty Appreciation Dinner in the Galen Center Founders Room. Â The event, which was open to all senior student-athletes and members of the Trojan Athletic Senate, provided an opportunity for student-athletes to invite a professor or faculty member of their choice in hopes of strengthening the bonds between student-athletes and their professors. Â The evening was filled with great food, presentations from Athletic Director Pat Haden and Sociology professor from the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences Amon Emeka. Â
Emeka, a former swimmer at California State University of Bakersfield, was able to relate to and understand student-athletes vigorous schedule while in college and also expressed his appreciation for their work ethic and the lessons they learn through athletics. Â The dinner provided a great opportunity for student-athletes to mingle with other professors in different departments at USC as well as form stronger relationships with current faculty members across the board.
