Katrina Kernochan is a junior on the USC beach volleyball team.
2017
As a sophomore, Kernochan partnered with eight different players and finished with a 25-6 overall record, which included a 13-3 mark in duals… served as USC’s utility player due to injuries to various players in the lineup… went 3-2 at the No. 4 position with Abril Bustamante when pressed into action at the Pac-12 Championship… went 5-1 at the No. 5 position with Lainy Thomas... Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention selection.
2016
As a freshman, Kernochan produced a 15-4 overall record with a 4-1 mark in dual play… paired with Terese Cannon at the No. 5 position at various times throughout the season… advanced to the Hawai’i Invitational bronze bracket finals and the Aloha Invitational finals with Cannon… took third place in the bronze bracket at the USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB
Kernochan was a two-year letterwinner in both indoor and beach volleyball at Mira Costa HS under head coach Haley Lawson… chosen Team MVP as a freshman and sophomore… earned the MCHS Scholar-Athlete Award all four years… helped lead her team to the Bay League Championship… won beach championships as a sophomore, junior, and senior… played two years for Elite Beach Volleyball Club… won BVCA tournaments in 2014 and 2015.
PERSONAL
Katrina Nicole Kernochan was born on June 25, 1996, in Santa Monica, Calif.… parents are Jeff and Kathy Kernochan… has one brother Connor, who is also a student at USC… aspires to one day visit every continent… majoring in communication.
