USC Men’s Track and Field Closes Regional Run with NCAA Championship Qualifiers in Eight Events

The Women of Troy will look to punch more national tickets to close the weekend tomorrow
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The USC men's track and field team earned eight individual national qualifying spots across six events to close NCAA West Regionals at John McDonnell Field on Friday. Both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay punched their ticket to the national stage as well.
Jack Stadlman holds the regional lead and the standout performance of the day headed into NCAA Championships in the 400m. His time of 44.79 marks a new personal best, earns him the No. 10 spot in USC history and comes within 0.2 seconds of Michael Norman's freshman record.

- Elias Gerald started the day with a new season-best jump to qualify for NCAA Championships. The senior had a slow start, missing two jumps at the 12.12m height, but hitting his stride by making the 2.17 and 2.20m marks on the first try. His jump on the final height of 2.20m (7-0.5) placed him in third and punched his ticket to Eugene.
- All three of USC's men's discus throwers finished in the top 12 to punch their ticket to semifinals in Eugene. Racquil Broderick claimed second with a mark of 62.66m (205-7) while Mico Lampinen slotted behind in third place at 60.04m (197-0). Vincent Ugwoke snuck in at the 12th spot with a mark of 56.60m (185-8) to qualify for his final championships.
- The men's 4x100m relay team of Nick Miller, Jacob Andrews, Jaelen Knox and Eddie Nketia kicked off the track events, qualifying off their time of 39.26 to advance at the 11th spot.
- Edward Nketia claimed spots on the national stage in both the 100m and 200m, clocking 10.06 in the 100m to place fourth and 20.57 in 200m to place tenth.
- Yougendy Mauricette picked up a new personal best on his way to a qualifying spot. His mark of 49.47 placed him at fifth in the regional field.
- The men's 4x400m relay closed out the day with second in their heat and fifth overall in 3:06.61. Jack Stadlman completed the comeback after the start of his leg saw the Trojans out of the top three. He achieved the fastest split of the entire 4x400 competition at West Regionals in 44.04.
