April 24, 2026 | Football
LOS ANGELES – USC wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane was selected by the Baltimore Ravens as the 16th pick of the third round (80th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Lane is USC's 535 all-time draftee. USC is second behind Notre Dame's 540 for most NFL Draft picks all time.
Lane is the 15th Trojan wide receiver drafted since 2010, including tenth in the first three rounds in that time frame.
He is the first Trojan picked by the Ravens since Andrew Vorhees was selected in the seventh round with the 229 overall pick in 2023.
In his three-year career (2023-25), Lane had 99 receptions for 1,363 yards (13.8 avg.) with 18 TDs while appearing in 30 games with 17 starts. He also recorded 1 tackle.
As a junior in 2025, Lane saw action in 11 games while starting in 9. He tallied 49 receptions for 745 yards (15.2 avg.) and 4 TDs. He was selected to the All-Big Ten Third Team and the Phil Steele All-Big Ten Fourth Team. Lane was a 2026 Senior Bowl Invitee and an NFL Combine participant.
Lane competed in all 13 games with 8 starts at wide receiver as a sophomore in 2024. He recorded 43 receptions for 525 yards (12.2 avg) with 12 TDs to lead the Trojans. He also recorded 1 tackle. He finished the season ranked No. 5 in the nation (No. 2 in the Big Ten) in receiving TDs. He also ranked No. 7 in the Big Ten in total TDs. Lane was named Las Vegas Bowl MVP and was selected to the AP All-Bowl Team for his performance at the 2024 Las Vegas Bowl.
In 2023, Lane saw action in 6 games (San José State, Nevada, Stanford, Oregon, UCLA and the Holiday Bowl versus Louisville) as a true freshman wide receiver. He recorded 7 catches for 93 yards (13.3 avg.) with a long of 31 yards and 2 TDs.
USC has a rich NFL Draft history. USC has the longest active streak (25 years) with a player drafted in the Top 3 Rounds. USC and Michigan are the only schools with an NFL draftee every year since 1939. USC has the most picks in the common draft era (1967), with 369 (next is Ohio State with 366 and Notre Dame with 325). USC holds the record for most players selected as the top pick of the NFL Draft (Ron Yary in 1968, O.J. Simpson in 1969, Ricky Bell in 1977, Keyshawn Johnson in 1996, Carson Palmer in 2003 and Caleb Williams in 2024). USC and Oklahoma are the only schools to have the No. 1 pick for 2 consecutive years (Yary and Simpson).
On Thursday (April 23), USC unanimous First Team All-American and 2025 Biletnikoff winner Makai Lemon was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles as the 20th pick of the first round.
The 2025 NFL Draft concludes with the fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday (April 25).
