The Trojans begin the 2026 slate on January 16
LOS ANGELES – The Bowerman Advisory Board featured two Trojans on the first watchlist of the 2025-26 track and field season. Madison Whyte received votes on the women's watchlist released on Wednesday and JC Stevenson received votes towards men's watchlist consideration on Thursday.
The Bowerman is awarded to collegiate track & field's top male and female athlete for the year. The Bowerman Advisory Board, and ultimately, The Bowerman Voters, are instructed to consider performances inclusively from the collegiate indoor track & field and outdoor track & field seasons. The watch list represents the group's consensus top 10 for each update. Those receiving votes are listed on at least one member's top 10 but did not garner enough votes to be listed in the consensus top 10.
Whyte begins her junior campaign coming off four first-place finishes in the 400m last season, including a win at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Whyte also competed as a member of the national champion 4x100 relay team at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Stevenson, 2024 long jump national champion, heads into his fourth season with the Trojans. Last season, he earned Big Ten Indoor Champion in the 60m and a bronze medal in long jump at the Big Ten Indoor Championships. He also set a personal record time of 6.46 in the 60m at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
The Bowerman releases a total of eight watch lists throughout the season with the next watch list available in early February. The full preseason list can be found here.
The Trojans debut for the indoor season at the Spokane Sports Showcase on Friday, Jan. 16. Results and more information can be found at usctrojans.com or @usc_track_field on Instagram and X.
