USC Men's Golf In Third After First Day Of Tucker Intercollegiate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After two rounds of play at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate in Albuquerque, the USC men's golf team sits in third place at 14-under-par and Nicolas Dominguez and Luke Scott sit tied for sixth individually. With a 36-hole score of 562, the Trojans are four shots behind tournament host New Mexico, and two shots behind Colorado.

Dominguez and Jaden Dumdumaya lead the way for the Trojans on the team scoring front, shooting 5-under-par and 4-under-par, respectively, while Stock is in contention as an individual. Dominguez opened with a 1-under-par 71 and followed it up with a 4-under-par 68 in the afternoon. Dumdumaya shot an opening round 67 and a 73 in the afternoon. Stock went out and shot a 4-under-par 68 in the morning, and a 1-under-par 71 in the second round, tallying 9 birdies on Day 1 as an individual. Stock made his Trojan debut last week at the Whirlwind Invitational, shooting rounds of 3, 4, and 5-under par.

Dominguez's second-round 68 is his third-lowest career round and shot him up 16 spots on the leaderboard. The Junior made five birdies and just one bogey in his second round. Overall, he made nine birdies on the opening day of play.

In total, four Trojans find themselves in the Top 20, with Dominguez and Stock in sixth, Dumdumaya in 12^th and Antonio Safa in 18^th. Safa, coming off an individual title and school record in the opening tournament of the season last week, had rounds of 67 and 74 on Friday.

Jack Buchanan rounds out the four-counting team scores for the Trojans and is at 2-under-par for the tournament after a 74 in round one and a 4-under 68 in round 2. His round two 68 bumped him up 37 spots on the leaderboard, finding himself in the Top 30 after with one round to play.
