LOS ANGELES — For the 14th time in 23 years of competition, USC has won back the rights to the Crosstown Cup — the annual head-to-head all-sports competition with crosstown rival UCLA. The Trojans now hold a 14-9 all-time lead over the Bruins in the history of the Cup competition.
With baseball final points still pending potential NCAA meetings, USC has already pocketed the 100 points required to clinch the Crosstown Cup, boasting a 110-70 advantage over the Bruins in this 2024-25 campaign.
To date, USC has had 10 teams claim the full 10 points on head-to-head battles with UCLA. Women's volleyball recorded the first win of the season over the Bruins, going on to secure 10 points for the Trojan cause in the fall, while women's water polo tallied the latest beating of the Bruins in securing a full 10 points on the Trojans' win over UCLA in the NCAA semifinals. Also bringing home 10 points for USC in 2024-25 were soccer, football, women's swimming and diving, rowing, women's golf, women's basketball, men's tennis and beach volleyball. Scoring five points apiece for USC with season splits against UCLA were men's volleyball and women's tennis.
In the case of a tie, USC also had the 2024-25 advantage on the first tiebreaker, with the Trojans edging out the Bruins in regular-season head-to-head competition 17-13. In all head-to-head competition to date, USC posted a 20-18 record against UCLA.

After USC captured the inaugural trophy in 2001-02, the Cup traded hands through 2006-07 before the Trojans went on a five-year winning streak from 2007-08 to 2011-12. UCLA won it back in 2012-13, and then the schools traded it again through 2015-16. UCLA then claimed it back-to-back in 2016-17 and 2017-18. The Trojans were victorious in 2018-19 before 2019-20 competition was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. USC won again in 2020-21, and Cup has since exchanged hands for the past five years.
