
Moody And Brock Are USC's Jackie Robinson Award Winners

Trojans nominated for Big Ten inaugural community and impact award
Sprinters Samirah Moody and Bryce Brock are the USC winners and nominees for the inaugural Big Ten Jackie Robinson Community & Impact Award. Each Big Ten school has two campus winners, one female and one male, and two of the winning student-athletes from the conference schools will be selected as the Big Ten winners for the Jackie Robinson Community and Impact Award, which will be announced shortly.
Moody and Brock of the track and field team were selected by USC as the student-athletes who best demonstrate Jackie Robinson's core values of "Jackie's nine" of courage, determination, teamwork, persistence, integrity, citizenship, justice, commitment and excellence. Specifically, student-athletes that have made an exceptional effort in impacting their local community through volunteerism, community programming and/or philanthropy between January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
Moody, a senior from Randolph, Mass., is one of the top women sprinters in the country, currently ranked No. 3 in the 100m dash with a wind-aided time of 11.03. She was a 2025 NCAA Indoor All-American in the 60m dash with a time of 7.17 and is the USC record-holder in the event with a time of 7.07. Moody has been heavily involved in community service, outreach and peer education while at USC, along with her efforts into women's and mental health issues and has always striven to make the community better. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communication and is working on a Master's in Criminal Justice
Brock, a junior from Oceanside, Calif., ranks just outside of USC's all-time top 10 in the 60m dash with a best time of 6.64. Brock is majoring in Dramatic Arts with a minor in Jazz Studies at USC. Brock has also been very active in USC community outreach and has used his educational focus of drama as a platform to educate through the arts to promote unity and growth. In each of the last two school years he has served as one of the key actors in the USC implicit bias vignette program, which recently performed in front of the entire athletic student body.
In recognition of their achievement and as an expression of the Conference's appreciation, each of the 36 nominees will receive a medal bearing the likeness of Jackie Robinson and the logo of the Big Ten Conference. He also have been active in many of USC's community programs and was a key player in the diversity, equity and inclusion
