USC Kicker Ryon Sayeri Named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES – USC kicker Ryon Sayeri earned Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his performance in No. 17 USC's epic 26-21 victory over No. 21 Iowa in the rain on Saturday (Nov. 15).Â
This is the second Big Ten weekly honor for Sayeri and the fourth for USC this season. Sayeri was also honored after USC's 21-17 victory over Nebraska on the road after he scored 8 points for the Trojans: 2 field goals (49 and 24 yards) and 2 PATs, all of which were massive in what proved to be a four-point game. USC quarterback Jayden Maiava earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading the Trojans to a 73-13 victory over Missouri State in USC's season opener, and running back King Miller was honored as Big Ten Freshman of the Week after his performance in USC's decisive 31-13 victory over No. 15 Michigan on Oct. 11.
Sayeri continues to be a crucial scorer for the Trojans as he nailed two FGs (40 and 28) and 3 PATs for a total of 9 points again the Hawkeyes. He also recorded 6 kickoffs for 388 yards (64.7 avg.) and 3 TBs.
He has the fifth-best field goal percentage in the nation with 94.4% accuracy going 17-of-18. He's second in the Big Ten in field goal percentage.
Sayeri is 6-of-6 in field goals versus ranked AP or CFP opponents, and he's 6-of-6 over 40+ yards. He's averaging 1.7 FGs per game (13th in the nation and 2nd in the Big Ten).
