Junior ties the USC 60m dash record
USC junior JC Stevenson was named the Big Ten Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week today (Jan. 29). Â
Stevenson tied the USC 60m dash record with a time of 6.50 in winning at the Red Raider Invite on Jan. 24. His time matched that of Trojan Davonte Burnett who ran 6.50 in winning the 2022 NCAA indoor title in the event. Stevenson is also now tied for the 11th-fastest 60m performer in collegiate history.
Stevenson is No. 1 and teammate Max Thomas No. 2 on the 2025 NCAA descending order list in the 60m and they are third and seventh on the 2025 world leaders list, tops among USA runners. The Stevenson-Thomas pairing makes the USC men's 60m sprint corps ranked No. 1 among all NCAA teams.
The native of Temecula, Calif. Stevenson also ranks third in the country in the indoor long jump with a leap of 25-10.75 (7.89m) at the Spokane Sports Showcase on Jan. 17. Stevenson is the defending NCAA outdoor champion in the long jump, jumping an outdoor personal-best of 26-11.75 (8.22m) to win the title on June 5, 2024.
Stevenson and his teammates will next be in action at the Collegiate Classic hosted by New Mexico in Albuquerque, N.M. on Feb. 7-8. Â
