
USC Athletics Sets New GPA Record in Fall 2024

LOS ANGELES — USC Athletics continued its record-setting academic performance in Fall 2024, achieving the highest cumulative GPA (3.178) in department history for the second straight semester. This milestone reflects the unwavering commitment of Trojan student-athletes to excellence in the classroom.
In total, 43 Trojans are set to earn their degrees following the fall semester, an increase from 37 last year, and 19 teams earned a term GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Several programs reached new academic heights this semester, including women's basketball, which recorded its highest-ever term GPA at 3.379. Additionally, five teams set new cumulative GPA records, including men's basketball, football, men's water polo, women's water polo and women's swimming.
Individual student-athletes also excelled, with four teams setting records for the most student-athletes with a term GPA of 3.0 or better:
- Football: 70 (previous record: 62)
- Men's Basketball: 14 (previous record: 11)
- Women's Basketball: 14 (previous record: 12)
- Lacrosse: 37 (previous record: 35)
Overall, 339 student-athletes had a term GPA above 3.0, while 171 student-athletes earned Dean's List honors with GPAs above 3.50 in 12 or more credit hours.

Their collective efforts ensure our student-athletes are thriving academically and preparing for success beyond USC."
USC student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom. In November, USC set a new department record with a Graduation Success Rate of 94 percent, including 13 teams with perfect scores. In total, 10 USC teams matched perfect all-time high GSR rates for their programs, and both baseball (93 percent) and football (82 percent) posted their best marks ever. In June, USC set an Academic Progress Rate record (991), with 15 programs equaling or establishing high marks.
