USC’s Eddie Czaplicki Selected to 2024 Ray Guy Award Watch List

LOS ANGELES--USC punter Eddie Czaplicki was selected to the 2024 Ray Guy Award Watch List, today (Aug. 2). The Ray Guy Award honors the nation's top collegiate punter.
The 2024 watch list is comprised of 33 candidates and was compiled based on the 2023 Ray Guy Award Semifinalist List, the top ten NCAA Punters from 2023, the 2023 All-Conference teams, the 2023 All-American Teams, the 2024 preseason All-Conference Teams and eligible punters on the 2023 watchlist.
In his 3-year collegiate career (2 years and Arizona State, 1 at USC), Czaplicki has handled punting and kickoffs duties. He has recorded 139 punts for 6,159 yards (44.3 avg.) with a long of 75 yards and 36 going 50 yards or more. He has touchbacks on 43 of his 86 kickoffs (50.0%).
He transferred to USC in the spring of 2023 from Arizona State and served as USC's punter in the 2023 season. He averaged 43.3 yards on his 44 punts in 2023, of which 15 pinned opponents with in the 20. He also had 30 kickoffs, totaling 1,906 yards. He appeared in all 13 games.
The number of eligible candidates for the Ray Guy Award will grow when the award opens nominations on August 3. The complete list of candidates will be released on November 6. In mid-November, the Ray Guy Award committee will meet to select the ten semifinalists, who will be announced on November 15.
A national body of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) sports information directors, media representatives and previous Ray Guy Award winners will then vote for the top three finalists to be announced on November 26. After the finalists are named, the voting body will cast ballots again to select the nation's top punter. The winner will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards airing on ESPN in December 2024.
