Blockburger Named Pac-12 Men's Track Athlete Of The Week

Senior part of 4 event wins in Dual Meet victory over UCLA

USC's Johnnie Blockburger was named Pac-12 Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the Week of April 22-28, it was announced by the conference today (April 30). It is Blockburger's second Pac-12 Track Athlete of the Week award this season and fourth of his career.

Johnnie Blockburger won two individual events and was part of two winning relay teams as USC defeated UCLA 99-60 in the annual Dual Meet on April 28. Blockburger won the 200m with a time of 20.78 and the 400m with a time of 45.50. He also ran a leg on the winning 4x100m relay which ran uncontested to a time of 43.29 after a DQ and the winning 4x400m relay with the second-fastest time among Pac-12 teams this season of 3:05.26.

Blockburger was also named Pac-12 Track Athlete of the Week for April 1-7. The senior sprinter owns the Pac-12's fastest time this season in the 200m (20.26w), 400m (45.38) and has run on the fastest 4x100m relay (38.77).
