USC’s MarShawn Lloyd Selected by Green Bay Packers in Third Round of 2024 NFL Draft

LOS ANGELES – USC running back MarShawn Lloyd was selected by the Green Bay Packers as the 25thpick of the third round (88th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Lloyd is USC's 526 all-time NFL draftee. USC is second behind Notre Dame's 528 for most NFL Draft picks all-time.
Lloyd is the sixth Trojan running back drafted since 2010, including the second in the top two rounds in that time frame.
He is the first Trojan picked by the Green Bay Packers since DE Nick Perry was selected in the first round with the No. 28 overall pick in 2012.
Lloyd made an immediate impact and became a fan-favorite during his one season as a Trojan. He was USC's top running back collecting 820 yards on 116 carries (7.1 avg.) with 9 TDs. He finished the season ranked No. 5 in the nation in rush yards per carry (7.07). He also tallied 13 receptions for 232 yards (17.9 avg.). He was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection, Reese's Senior Bowl Midseason All-American Team and participated in the Reese's Senior Bowl.
Lloyd was South Carolina's rushing leader as a redshirt sophomore running back in 2022 while appearing in 9 games with 8 starts. He ran for 573 yards on 111 carries (5.2 avg.) with 9 TDs and caught 18 passes for 176 yards (9.8 avg.) with 2 TDs on the season. He led the team with 11 total TDs.
After sitting out as a true freshman due to a torn ACL, he appeared in 12 games as a redshirt freshman in 2021. He ran for 228 yards on 64 carries (3.6 avg.) with 1 TD and caught 3 passes for 44 yards (14.7 avg.) on the season. He earned placement on the 2021 SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
On Thursday (April 25), USC Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Caleb Williams was selected No. 1 overall by the Chicago Bears in the first round. With Williams' No. 1 overall selection, USC now holds the record for most players (6) selected as the top pick of the NFL Draft.
Earlier this evening, USC First Team All-American safety Calen Bullock was selected by the Houston Texans as the 14th pick of the third round (78th overall).
