No. 2 USC Beach Volleyball Crashes Waves for 4-1 Victory

The Women of Troy won their fifth straight dual on a 4-1 win over Pepperdine to open the Center of Effort Challenge
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The No. 2-ranked USC beach volleyball team (25-3) topped longtime rival Pepperdine (15-11) by a 4-1 count to open the Center of Effort Challenge at Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex on Friday, April 12.

The victory extended the Trojans' win streak to five duals and pushed the Women of Troy to 20-13 all-time against Pepperdine with an eight-match streak over the Waves. USC also goes to 12-1 all-time in San Luis Obispo.

Graduates Maddi Kriz and Grace Seits locked up the clinching point with a 21-11, 21-19 win over Gabriella Perez and Sarlota Svobodova at the No. 3 position to improve to 20-4 on the season; the third Trojan pair to reach the 20-win plateau in 2024.Â

The Trojans scored their first point from court four when freshman Madison Goellner and sophomore Madison White tag-teamed for a 21-13, 21-18 win over Kaydon Meyers and Gracie Pederson. It was the 50th-career win for White who improved to 24-3 on the season. Goellner stayed undefeated in her first collegiate season and went to 13-0 overall.

USC went to 2-0 in the dual with a win from the No. 2 position where twin sisters Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse collected a 21-11, 21-19 win over Kristine Briede and Madison Oriskovich for their 112th win all-time. The sisters are now 21-6 in 2024.

The score went to 4-0 with USC's win at the No. 5 spot when graduate Ainsley Radell and sophomore Mabyn Thomas racked up their 12th win together on a 21-17, 21-13 victory over Emi Erickson and Aubrey Roberts.

Pepperdine scored its only point from the top court where Kate Clermont and McKenna Thomas went three sets to defeat All-American seniors Megan Kraft and Delaynie Maple, 22-20, 11-21, 15-10.

The Trojans are back in action this afternoon (April 12) with a dual against seventh-ranked Long Beach State (21-5) at 3 p.m. PT.Â
