USC’s Tahj Washington Selected to 2023 Paul Hornung Award Watch List

LOS ANGELES—USC wide receiver Tahj Washington earned placement on the 2023 Paul Hornung Award Watch List today (Aug. 3). The Paul Hornung Award is given annually to the most versatile player in major college football by the Louisville Sports Commission in memory of the late football legend and Louisville native Paul Hornung.
Washington, a fixture in the Trojan wide receiving corps, returns as a starter as a redshirt senior in 2023. He is also an outstanding special teams player as he returns kickoffs for USC.
In 2022, Washington had 50 receptions for 785 yards (15.7 avg) with 6 TDs, as well as 3 kickoff returns for 75 yards (25.0 avg) while appearing in 14 games with 11 starts (all but Stanford, Fresno State and Arizona State) as a redshirt junior. He also recorded 1 tackle in the Pac-12 Championship game against Utah.
Washington was named a 2022 All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention.
A USC player has never won the Paul Hornung Award, but former Trojans wide receiver Marqise Lee and cornerback Adoree' Jackson were both finalists in 2012 and 2016, respectively.
