The 2023 U.S. Women’s Open Champion is set to be the fourth Trojan Alumna to compete for Team USA in the Solheim Cup
LOS ANGELES -Â Allisen Corpuz earned her spot as an automatic qualifier, via the U.S. Solheim Cup standings, to compete for Team USA at the biennial Solheim Cup on September 22-24 at the Finca Cortesin in Casares, Andalusia, Spain.Â
Â
Corpuz will join a list of 12 athletes who are set to compete for Team USA as they face Team Europe at the 18th Solheim Cup. The team is comprised of the top seven players in the U.S. Solheim Cup standings, the top two in the Rolex Women's World Golf Ranking and three captain's picks.Â
Â
This will be Corpuz's inaugural debut at the event as she is set to be the fourth Trojan alumna to compete for Team USAÂ in the Solheim Cup. Her spot was secured as she ranked third in the LPGA Solheim Cup standings due to her winning the 2023 U.S. Women's Open and five top-ten finishes this season.Â
Â
At USC, Corpuz was a two-time All-American, including a first-team All-American selection in 2020. The 2021 graduate has been dominant since her debut on the professional circuit, as she has accumulated eight top-ten finishes on the LPGA tour.Â
