USC’s Justin Dedich and Jonah Monheim Selected to 2023 Lombardi Award Watch List

LOS ANGELES—USC offensive linemen Justin Dedich and Jonah Monheim were selected to the 2023 Lombardi Award Watch List today (Aug. 15). The Lombardi Award is annually presented to the college football offensive or defensive lineman who exemplifies the character and discipline of NFL Hall of Fame Head Coach Vince Lombardi in addition to outstanding performance and ability.
Dedich, USC's most experienced lineman who has seen action at a multitude of positions, returns for his final season as a redshirt senior at center. In 2022, he started 11 games at right guard, 1 game at left guard and 1 game at center, filling in for the starter, Brett Neilon, after he suffered a season-ending injury. He was named to the Pro Football Focus All-American Third Team and was All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. He helped the Trojan offensive line unit to be selected as a Joe Moore Award Semifinalist. Per PFF, he was the No. 7 graded guard in the nation in 2022.
Dedich has also been named to the 2023 Outland Trophy Watch List, Rimington Trophy Watch List, Allstate AFCA Good Works Team Watch List and the Wuerffel Trophy Watch List. He was also named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-Pac-12 First Team and All-American Fourth Team, Preseason All-Pac-12 Second Team and Athlon Preseason Sports All-Pac-12 Second Team.
Monheim, who was selected to the All-Pac-12 Second Team, Athlon Sports All-Pac-12 Second Team and Phil Steele All-Pac-12 Second Team, is a standout on the Trojan offensive and will return as a starter as a redshirt junior in 2023. He started all 14 games on the offensive line as a redshirt sophomore in 2022. He started 11 times at right tackle and 3 times at right guard. He was named an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. He helped the Trojan offensive line unit to be selected as a Joe Moore Award Semifinalist. Per PFF, he was the No. 9 graded tackle in the nation in 2022.
