November 09, 2023 | Men's Golf
LOS ANGELES--Jaden Dumdumaya, a two-time CIF North Section and CIF State Champion from Concord, Calif., and Tyler Greenspahn, a 3a Illinois State Champion from Winnetka, Ill., have both signed with the USC men's golf program, Trojan head coach Mark Hankins announced today (Nov. 9).
Â
Dumdumaya, a nationally ranked junior talent, is a nominee for 2023 Athlete of the Year at De La Salle HS after he led the varsity team to wins at the East Bay Athletic League Championships, Champions Invitational, CIF NorCal Section and the 2022 and 2023 CIF State Championships. He also led his team to a third place finish at the PGA High School Championship.Â
Â
"Jaden is a highly accomplished player that plays an international schedule and has high aspirations for his golf career," said Hankins. "He is fundamentally sound in his golf swing, short game and mental approach. We look forward to adding Jaden to our Class of 2024 as we continue to grow our team strength and depth here at USC."
Â
Dumdumaya is currently ranked in the top 1% of the Junior Golf Scoreboard Global ranking and the top 5% of the AJGA Junior Rolex ranking.Â
Â
The 2023 Philippine National Men's Golf Player, who represented the country at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games as the only junior player on the team, also won the 2022 California State Fair Tournament becoming the youngest player to accomplish the feat in 98 years.Â
Â
Dumdumaya is the record holder for most wins on the Junior Tour of California, in front of multi-awarded PGA Tour and LIV Champion Bryson DeChambeau and former Trojan Justin Suh.
Â
In 2022, the honor-roll student placed 5th in local qualifier for the US Open and closed out his 2023 season, individually, with a win at the 2023 NorCal Section Championship.Â
Â
"I'm extremely excited to be a part of the Trojan Family," said Dumdumaya. "I chose USC because I want to help build the program to the top while experiencing an amazing school atmosphere."
Â
Greenspahn, a top ranked player in Illinois, is captain of the varsity golf team at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill. He was the champion at the Illinois Sectionals, the Rambler Invite and the Buffalo Grove Invite.Â
Â
"Tyler has accomplished a high national ranking while playing a shortened schedule in the Midwest," said Hankins. "He has continued to improve in all aspects of his game over the past few years which has led to a top ranking in his state. He is a mature player that will add immediate competitiveness, and quality depth to our roster this spring."
Â
Greenspahn consistently placed for the Trevians, adding three second place finishes and another top-five to his accolades.Â
Â
On the Illinois Junior Golf Association circuit, Greenspahn found success with three second place finishes last summer, including one at the IJGA Illinois State Junior Amateur. Greenspahn also finished 9th out of 60 at the AJGA Memorial Junior.Â
Â
"I chose USC because of its winning traditions," said Greenspahn. "I very much wanted to be challenged academically and athletically. The opportunity to be coached by Coach Hankins is truly special. The weather and the culture at USC seems like a perfect place for me to be."
Â
Dumdumaya will enroll in the fall of 2024, while Greenspahn will join the Trojans in the spring of 2024.Â
