No. 1 USC Beach Volleyball Dominates Ducks to Open Pac-12 Championship Run

The Women of Troy secured a 3-0 sweep over Oregon for the team’s 19th shutout of an opponent this season
TUCSON, Ariz. – The top-seeded and No. 1-ranked USC beach volleyball team (29-1) defeated eighth-seeded Oregon (14-17) in the winner's bracket quarterfinal of the Pac-12 Championship on Bear Down Beach on Wednesday, April 27.

The Women of Troy extend their winning streak to 28 duals—the third longest streak in program history—and picked up their 19th shutout of an opponent this season. USC improved to 8-0 all-time against Oregon and goes to 29-1 in matches played in the state of Arizona and to 19-5 all-time in Pac-12 tournament duals.

USC scored the first point of the dual from the No. 3 position when Delaynie Maple and Julia Scoles claimed a 21-13, 21-8 win over Madelyn LaFollette and Daley McClellan. Maple-Scoles improve to 29-1 as a pair to lead all USC duos.

At the top court, Tina Graudina and Hailey Harward took a 21-16, 21-11 win against Reagan Hope and Brooke Nuneviller to push their win streak to 25 matches and improve to 26-1 overall.

The clinching point went into the books from court five as Mollie Ebertin and Sunny Villapando wrapped up a 21-8, 21-15 win over Ally Haden and Savannah Siegrist. Ebertin-Villapando improve to 19-4 overall this season.

Just one point from finishing, Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse led Ashley Schroeder and Ella Tyus, 21-13, 20-17, when play was suspended at court four. The Trojans' second pair also didn't finish. Megan Kraft and Sammy Slater took a 21-15 win in the first set over Alex Laita and Bea Wetton and were leading the Ducks, 17-9, in the second when play stopped.

USC's next opponent is fifth-seeded tournament host Arizona (19-10) in the winner's bracket semifinal. The Trojans and the Wildcats will meet at 11:30 a.m. PT on Thursday, April 28, at Bear Down Beach. A win would put the Women of Troy in the winner's final set for 3:15 p.m. PT. All duals will be shown live on Pac-12 Networks and on the Pac-12 Now app.
