The Women of Troy collected their eighth 5-0 sweep of the season
LOS ANGELES – The No. 2-ranked USC beach volleyball team (12-1) collected its 11th straight win and the team's eighth 5-0 victory in a sweep of CSU Bakersfield (6-5) at Merle Norman Stadium on Tuesday, March 22.

The Trojans improve to 5-0 on home sand with the win. USC scored the first point of the dual on a straight-set win by Delaynie Maple and Julia Scoles at the No. 2 position. Maple-Scoles took down Sophia Hladyniuk and Hana Makonova, 21-12, 21-8, for their 13th straight victory.

The Trojans went on top, 2-0, with a win at the No. 4 position where Mollie Ebertin and Sunny Villapando took down Caroline Benke and Megan Gilbert, 21-9, 21-17, for their sixth straight win together.

The Trojans' pair at No. 5 clinched a dual for the first time this spring as Caroline Schafer and Shannon Scully defeated Paige Calvin and Hayley McCluskey in two sets, 21-8, 21-7. USC added a fourth point with a win at the top court where Tina Graudina and Hailey Harward took a 21-10, 21-19 win over Cameron Solberg and Milica Vukobrat for their 11th straight win.

USC tacked up the final point of the day from court three where former Roadrunner Emily Hansen and Megan Kraft overcame a 20-17 hole in the second set to claim a 21-10, 23-21 win over Brooke Boiseau and Anna Unke.

In a non-scoring match, Seleisa Elisaia and Alaina Glendale defeated Paige Dreeuws and Paige Hammons, 23-21, 21-18.

USC hits the road again this weekend for the Pac-12 South Invitational at Bear Down Beach in Tucson, Ariz. The Trojans will face Utah, Arizona State, and Washington on Saturday and Sunday (March 26-27) in a preview of the site of the 2022 Pac-12 Championship.
