USC’s Snow Han Reaches Semifinals of ITA Southwest Regional

SAN DIEGO--USC redshirt freshman Snow Han advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Southwest Regional this weekend in San Diego, Calif.
Han made a strong run in the tournament by collecting five wins beginning in the Round of 128. Her most notable victory of the weekend came on Saturday (Oct. 23) as she defeated the No. 9 ranked player in the nation, San Diego State's Bunyawi Thamchaiwat 1-6 6-3 6-3 in the Quarterfinals of the tournament.
Han lost her first match of the weekend in the Seminfinals on Sunday (Oct. 24) to Pepperdine's No. 53 Lisa Zaar in tight match with a 1-6 6-4 6-1 score.
USC senior No. 18 Salma Ewing also produced a strong showing in the tournament. After a bye in the Round of 128, Ewing collected three wins before a loss in the Quarterfinals to San Diego's No. 30 Solymar Colling 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.
In doubles, the Trojan pairs of Ewing/Han and Cayetano/Piper reached the Quarterfinals on Saturday (Oct. 23).
