USC's Eryn Cayetano Reaches Semifinals of ITA All-American Championships

CHARLESTON, S.C.--USC's No. 56 ranked Eryn Cayetano upset many other higher-ranked opponents to reach the Semifinals of the Main Draw at the ITA All-American Championships in Charleston, S.C. over the weekend.Â

Cayetano fell in the Semifinal round to Iowa's No. 12 Alexa Noel 6-0, 1-6, 6-3 on Saturday (Oct. 9).Â

In addition, Trojan senior No. 18 Salma Ewing reached the Quarterfinals of the event. She lost to Pepperdine's No. 44 Taisiya Pachkaleva 6-0, 7-5.Â

USC was the only school to have two players in the Quarterfinal Round.Â

On the road to the Semifinal match, junior Cayetano defeated No. 21 Carolyn Campana from Wake Forest, No. 15 Meg Kowalski from Georgia and No. 3 Janice Tjen of Pepperdine (who was also the No. 2 seed in the tournament).
