No. 5 USC Beach Splits Second Day at Pac-12 South Invitational

The Women of Troy defeated Utah after stumbling to No. 11 California
LOS ANGELES – The No. 5 USC beach volleyball team (5-4) completed the Pac-12 South Invitational with a split on Sunday, March 8.
In the morning, the Women of Troy dropped a close 3-2 decision to No. 11 California (9-1) at Mapes Beach on the UCLA campus. The Trojans' freshman duo of twins Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse and USC's No. 5 pair of senior Cammie Dorn and junior Paige Dreeuws scored the two dual points.
USC bounced back in the afternoon to get a 5-0 sweep of Utah (0-8) at Ocean Park Beach in Santa Monica, Calif. The Nourse sisters moved up to court two and won again. Dorn and Dreeuws moved up to the No. 4 spot and also claimed a victory. The Trojans used a new pair at the No. 5 spot where senior Joy Dennis and sophomore Mollie Ebertin teamed for a win to sew up the sweep.
The Women of Troy are back in action on Wednesday, March 11, at home. USC welcomes longtime Southern California rivals Pepperdine (2-3) and UCLA (11-2) for duals at Merle Norman Stadium. The Trojans and Waves will meet at noon PT and then USC faces the Bruins in a rematch at 2 p.m. The Waves and Bruins will also play at 4 p.m. to conclude the day.
