Getting To Know Trey Knight

Freshman Trey Knight is in his first season as a thrower on the USC track and field team. He is the all-time high school record holder in the hammer throw at 261-7 and was a three-time Gatorade State Boy's Field Athlete of the Year for Washington. We caught up with him the other day.
Q: What type of zoom student are you?
T.K.: I have a desk table set up in my room at home
Q: What is your go to quarantine dinner?
T.K.: Chicken and lasagna
Q: What's the most interesting place you've competed at?
T.K.: Cuba, It was my first time out of the country. It was cool to see kids from all over the country. We were there for a week, loved traveling and eating and seeing different cultures. I enjoyed meeting kids and following them to this day to see what they are up to.
Q: What is your event?
T.K.: I throw the hammer
Q: What's on your Instagram discover page?
T.K.: Hardly ever on Instagram
Q: Favorite animal?
T.K.: Wolf
Q: What is your favorite music genre?
A: Classic Rock, Queen
Q: What do you listen to before competition?
T.K.: Depends on how I'm feeling that day, I listen to a lot of different things
Q: What are some of your favorite hobbies?
T.K.: When the movie theaters were open, I liked going to movies. I also like longboarding with my friends
Q: What is the most important part of your identity/brand?
T.K.: Surrounding yourself with good people. My grandfather was my coach he taught me that hard work will pay off.
Q: What about living in L.A. are you excited for?
T.K.: Excited to try some of the food. I've heard there are some really good food joints.
Q: What are you most excited for about coming to USC?
T.K.: Competing on the track team and being on my own to experience the college life
