Coming off the first scrimmage of Fall Camp, the Trojans locked in for another important week.
- While the USC quarterbacks performed efficiently during Saturday's scrimmage, head coach Clay Helton is still promoting competition at the position. "I hope one separates himself and truly takes command of this offense," he said.
- Sophomore QB JT Daniels has greatly improved at reading defensive pressures and getting the ball out quickly before the rush gets to him, Helton said.
- Making life difficult on the QBs, sophomore safety Talanoa Hufanga picked off two passes in today's practice. "You can see how comfortable he is in the system," Helton said about Hufanga emerging as a defensive leader. "He's actually making the calls for everybody and getting them lined up." The second interception was a low, one-handed catch that he took back for six. "I think he can be one of the best in the country by the end of the season."
- Junior RB Stephen Carr has been brought along carefully during Fall Camp given his injury history, but he was put into live situations on Saturday, came through it well, and will face some physicality on Tuesday. "He's going to be put into some tough situations tomorrow, which I am looking forward to watching."
