USC-UCLA Dual Meet Opened With The Hammer Throw Today

The annual crosstown showdown resumes tomorrow at USC
Joy McArthur placed second in the women's hammer throw and Nathan Bultman took second in the men's hammer throw to get the 2019 USC-UCLA Dual Meet started at CS Northridge in Northridge, Calif. today (April 27). The remaining 18 events for each gender in the annual Dual Meet will be held at Loker Stadium on the USC campus tomorrow, beginning at 11 a.m. with the first field event and at noon with the first running event. Both the USC women's and men's team will go into tomorrow's action trailing 6-3.

- McArthur took second in the women's hammer throw with a best mark of 196-6 (59.90m) which came in her fifth attempt. She earned USC its first three points in the Dual Meet team competition. Natasha Stamp finished fourth in the hammer throw with a PR of 156-5 (47.68m) in her final attempt.Â
- Bultman had a season-best mark of 217-6 (66.30m) to finish second in the men's hammer throw. It was his fourth consecutive meet with a season-best mark in the hammer throw and he earned USC its first three points. Jason Kim had a PR of 165-8 (50.51m) in his third throw and he finished fourth overall.
