McArthur Wins 2019 Trojan Invitational Women's Hammer Throw Competition

Takes her second Trojan Invitational title
Joy McArthur won the women's hammer throw, Karlee Freeman was second in the women's discus throw and Nathan Bultman took fifth in the men's hammer throw during the first day of action at the 2019 Trojan Invitational today (March 15). The hammer and discus competitions took place at CS Northridge today with the main portion of the meet taking place tomorrow at Loker Stadium on the Trojans' campus.
- The sophomore McArthur had a best mark of 201-2 (61.33m) to win the women's hammer throw, her second consecutive Trojan Invitational hammer throw title. McArthur's throw was just seven inches off her personal best. Redshirt freshman Natasha Stamp, in her first official meet as a Trojan, took ninth with a mark of 138-2 (42.12m). Also making their collegiate debuts were freshmen Karlee Freeman (137-0/41.77m) who was 10th and Katherine Longjohn (124-6/37.96m) who was 12th.
- Redshirt junior Nathan Bultman was fifth in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 200-5 (61.08m). Senior Jason Kim had a PR of 164-2 (50.46m) to place 12th. For Kim, it was his second meet and second PR this season and dating back to last season, has PR'd in his last three meets (USC-UCLA Dual Meet).
- Freeman took second in the women's discus throw with a best throw of 154-11 (47.23m). Freeman's mark was the best among the college athletes competing.
