USC To Open The T&F Outdoor Season At The Beach Opener

The USC outdoor track and field season is set to open this weekend at the Beach Invitational on Jack Rose Track in Long Beach, Calif. on March 1-2. The hammer throw and javelin competitions will be held beginning at noon on March 1, with the remainder of the meet beginning at 8 a.m. on March 2. There are 19 schools registered for the Beach Invitational: USC, Long Beach State, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UCSB, Pepperdine, CS Bakersfield, LMU, Biola, Colorado College, Cerritos College, College of the Canyons, Cuyamaca College, El Camino College, Golden West College, Long Beach City College, Mt. SAC, Orange Coast College and West L.A. College.
With some of the team training through this week for the NCAA Indoor Championships next week in Birmingham, Ala. (March 8-9), USC will send 26 athletes to Long Beach to begin the 2019 outdoor campaign. USC's women's team is the defending NCAA Champion and the men's team is coming off a fourth-place finish in 2019.
Expected to be competing at the Beach Opener this week are:
Women: Jennifer Daly, Rachel Glynn, Alexa Harmon-Thomas, Isabella Marten, Lauren Maurer, Joy McArthur, Cassidy Palka, Kayla Richardson, Brynn Sauer, Sydney Tullai and Natasha Stamp.
Men: Devin Bright, Damiano Carrioli, Earvin da Silva, John Dempsey, Michael Gonzalez, David Hulme, Jason Kim, Talin Lewis, Mitch Libby, Jaydon Logan, Nick Moore, Marquis Morris, Omotade Ojora, Tyler Rambo and Daniel Robinson.
