USC T&F Adds Williams, Allen Jr. & Green To Roster

The USC Track & Field program has added transfer sprinter Lauren Rain Williams, sprinter Eric Allen Jr. and hurdler Noah Green to the 2018-19 roster, it was announced by Director of Track & Field Caryl Smith Gilbert today. Williams will have three years of eligibility remaining, beginning this season.
Williams transfers to USC from Oregon where she was an All-American sprinter as a freshman, scoring in the 4x100m relay and reaching the 2018 NCAA semifinals in the 200m dash. She also finished sixth in the 100m, ninth in the 200m and second in the 4x100m relay at the 2018 Pac-12 Championships. She has outdoor wind-legal PRs of 11.29 in the 100m and 22.51 in the 200m and indoor bests of 7.32 in the 60m and 23.16 in the 200m. Williams was the 2016 California state champion in the 100m and a two-time New Balance Nationals indoor champion in the 200m while in high school at Oaks Christian, in Westlake Calif. Williams also ran a 22.44 wind-aided 200m time in high school which was the third-fastest ever recorded under any conditions by a high school woman, behind only Allyson Felix and Candace Hill.
Allen Jr. is a 2018 graduate of the Bullis School in Potomac, Md. He had an indoor 200m PR of 20.91 at the University of Kentucky High School Invitational, which was the fastest high school time in 2018 and just the seventh high schooler in history to run sub-21 seconds indoors. He also ran 32.84 in the indoor 300m which is second all-time by a high school athlete. Allen Jr. was named the 2018 Washington Post Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. He has outdoor PRs of 10.43 in the 100m and 20.94 in the 200m during his senior season. He helped Bullis win the 2017 IAC Championships by winning the 100m, 200m and 100m hurdles (14.57). Allen Jr. also has indoor bests of 6.36 in the 55m and 6.74 in the 60m dashes.
Green, who graduated in 2018 from Duncanville High in Duncanville, Texas, has a personal best of 13.51 in the 110m hurdles and 52.52 in the 400m hurdles. He has also run 7.72 in the indoor 60m hurdles. Green won the 110m hurdles at the 2017 New Balance Nationals with his PR of 13.51. He also took the bronze medal in the 110m hurdles at the 2017 USATF Junior Championships with a time of 13.53. Before Duncanville High he competed at St. Thomas Aquinas High in Overland Park, Kan. and before that Blue Valley High in Stillwell, Kan. Green won the 110m and 300m hurdles Kansas state title in 2016 and 2017.
Other additions to the USC roster include hurdler Omotade Ojora, jumper Isabella Marten and 800m runner Sam VanDorpe.
Ojora is a hurdler from Eton College in Berkshire, England who has a 110m personal best of 13.54 run at the English Schools senior boys final. That time broke an eight-year old championship record.
Marten is a fifth-year senior transfer from California who competed for the Bears in the triple and long jumps. The German-born jumper has bests of 43-8 (13.31m) in the triple jump and 19-10.75 (6.06m) in the long jump. Marten earned first-team All-America honors in the triple jump in 2016, finishing seventh at the NCAA Championships with a wind-aided jump of 43-9.75. She also won the 2016 MPSF indoor triple jump title. She began her career at SMU in 2015.
VanDorpe is a 2018 graduate of Mater Dei High in Santa Ana, Calif. He has PRs of 1:51.07 in the 800m and 4:16 in the 1600m. He was the 2018 CIF Masters Meet 800m champion and placed third in the event at the state meet his personal best of 1:51.07.
These additions are part of a strong group of newcomers already announced as part of the Trojans' roster for the 2018-19 season which also includes Breanna Bernard-Joseph (hurdles), Alyssa Brewer (distances), Karlee Freeman (throws), Isaiah Jewett (distances), Bailey Lear (sprints), Ayden Owens (multi-events/hurdles), Nate Patterson (high jump), Jemima Russell (distances), Brendon Stewart (sprints) and Lanae-Tava Thomas (jumps/sprints).
Also, USC has added the following athletes to the 2018-19 USC track and field roster: Brett Chody (distances), John Dempsey (distances), Jacquelyn Fields (jumps), Talin Lewis (jumps), Mitch Libby (distances), Daniel Robinson (sprints), Brynn Sauer (distances) and McKenzie Shulman (distances).
