USC Announces 2019 T&F Indoor & Outdoor Schedules

Trojans to host two outdoor meets, including the annual USC-UCLA Dual Meet
The 2018 national champion women's track and field team and the men's team which finished in the top five both during the indoor and outdoor campaigns last season will be facing a challenging national schedule to prepare them for the championship meets at the end of the 2019 season.
"We aim for excellence year to year at USC," said USC Director of Track & Field Caryl Smith Gilbert. "I believe our indoor and outdoor schedules will allow us to compete against elite national teams and gain the experience needed to be ready for championship season."
The indoor season begins for the Trojans at the Dr. Martin Luther King Invitational in Albuquerque, NM on January 18-19. USC will have two other regular season indoor meets, the Texas Tech Invitational in Lubbock, Texas on Jan. 25-26 and the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark. on February 8-9, before the MPSF Conference Championships in Seattle, Wash. on February 22-23. The 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships will be held in Birmingham, Ala. on March 8-9.
USC will open up the outdoor track and field season by hosting the annual Trojan Invitational on March 15-16. The Trojan Invitational will feature among others, the men's and women's teams from Baylor. The meet, as is tradition, also features the Los Angeles City High School Relay Championships. It will also be Senior Day with the senior USC track and field athletes being recognized.
The Trojans will then travel to Miami for the second annual Power 5 Trailblazer Challenge which will also feature Ohio State, Mississippi, Tennessee, host Miami and possibly Washington. The ground-breaking Power 5 Challenge was created by Smith Gilbert last season to feature the six schools within the Power 5 Conferences which have a woman leading both the men's and women's teams.
The Trojans will then compete at the California Collegiate in La Jolla, Calif. (March 30), the Jim Click Invitational in Tucson, Ariz. (April 5-6), the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif. (April 12-13), the Mt. SAC Relays in Torrance, Calif. (April 18-20) and the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif. (April 18-20).
The annual crosstown rivalry USC-UCLA Dual Meet will be hosted by the Trojans on April 28. USC swept the Dual Meet last season at UCLA.
The Pac-12 Multi-Event Championships (May 4-5) and the Pac-12 Championships (May 11-12) this year will be hosted by Arizona in Tucson, Ariz. The NCAA West Preliminary Rounds will be held May 23-25 in Sacramento Calif. and the NCAA Championships will be in Austin, Texas. from June 5-8, the first time in Texas since 2004.
