Cockrell 5th In 400m Hurdles & Ford 6th In 800m at USATF Championships

Anna Cockrell placed fifth in the women's 400m hurdles and Robert Ford sixth in the men's 800m race during the final day of action at the USATF Outdoor Championships held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Ia. today (June 24). Â

Among former Trojan athletes competing:

- Anna Cockrell placed fifth in the women's 400m hurdles with a time of 56.14. Cockrell had a strong start and led for the first half of the race, but could not hold off the field.
- Robert Ford took sixth in the men's 800m final with a time of 1:48.44.
- Michael Norman began the day by winning his 200m semifinal heat with a time of 20.35 (-0.6), which was second among the qualifiers for the final. After a three-hour weather delay, it was decided that Norman would not compete in the final.
- Breana Jemison had a best shot put mark of 48-0.75 (14.65m) to finish 17 in the event.
Among former Trojan athletes competing:
- Aleec Harris (USC, 2013-14) finished seventh in the 110m hurdles final with a time of 13.76 (-1.8). He had a time of 13.49 (-1.7) to take second in his semifinal heat earlier in the day. Harris had the fifth-fastest qualifying tim for the final. Â
- Jaide Stepter had a time of 22.87 (-0.2) to finish sixth in her 200m semifinal. She ended up 11th overall in the event.
