Ford & Ellis Advance To Semifinals At The USATF Outdoor Championships

Robert Ford in the 800m and Kendall Ellis in the 400m advanced to event semifinals during the first day of action at the USATF Outdoor Championships held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Ia. today (June 21).
- Robert Ford ran a PR of 1:46.43 to place second in his 800m prelim heat and automatically qualify for the event semifinal tomorrow. Ford finished second overall among the qualifiers and his time moved him from sixth to third on USC's all-time 800m list.
- Kendall Ellis won her 400m prelims heat with a time of 51.91 to advance to the semifinal tomorrow. Her time ended up being third overall among the qualifiers.
- T.J. Brock had a time of 10.25 (+1.9) to place sixth in his heat and 25th overall in the 100m dash.
- Destinee Brown finished fifth in her 100m dash heat with a time of 11.33 (+1.8) and had to await the completion of all four heats to see if she advanced to the semifinal tomorrow. When the heats were done, her time stood up as 16th overall, grabbing the final spot in the semifinal.
- Alex Collatz-Sellens (USC, 2012-15) took seventh in the women's discus throw with a best mark of 186-7 (56.87m).
