Bustamante-Graudina Tabbed VolleyballMag.com Pair of the Year

SAN DIEGO – The USC beach volleyball pair of junior Abril Bustamante (Redondo Beach, Calif.) and freshman Tina Graudina (Jurmala, Latvia) was chosen as the 2018 VolleyballMag.com/Sand Socks Pair of the Year as announced by the publication on Monday, May 29. The duo was also named to the online magazine's All-America first team. Graudina herself was tabbed as the VolleyballMag.com National Freshman of the Year.

Last week, the Trojans' No. 1 tandem was also named to the VolleyMob.com All-America second team. They were chosen as AVCA All-Americans on May 17.

The Trojans' top pair went 31-2 overall and played exclusively at the No. 1 position. Bustamante individually finished with a 36-4 overall record having paired with senior Terese Cannon for the first week of competition. Bustamante-Graudina was chosen as the AVCA/CollegeBeachVB.com National Pair of the Week and was also named the Pac-12's Pair of the Week once each this season.

Bustamante was recently selected for her second All-Pac-12 honor and was joined by Graudina on the all-league roster. Graudina earned the Pac-12's Freshman of the Year distinction and was also named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team. They were chosen as the all-tournament pair at the No. 1 position at both the Pac-12 South and North invitational and were named to the Pac-12 Championship all-tournament team.

The Women of Troy (27-14) finished as the runner-up at the Pac-12 Championship and were chosen as one of two at-large selections into the 2018 NCAA Championship. The Women of Troy advanced to the Saturday final at the championship and finished in fourth place. Seventh-year head coach Anna Collier collected her 170th victory this season.
