Kremer, Belton, and Cannon Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Laurels

The Trojan seniors helped lead the Women of Troy to a fourth-place finish at the 2018 NCAA Championship
SAN FRANCISCO – USC beach volleyball seniors Jo Kremer (Pacific Palisades, Calif.), Jenna Belton (Aptos, Calif.), and Terese Cannon (Pittsford, N.Y.) were each named to Pac-12 All-Academic teams as announced by the Conference on Friday, May 18.

Kremer—the 2018 Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the Year—was selected to the first team and earned her third-career Pac-12 all-academic recognition. She was a first-team choice in 2016 and received second-team notice in 2017.

Belton and Cannon were each chosen to the second team. Belton earned her second-career selection. She was a first-team choice in 2016 and received honorable mention in 2017. Cannon repeats her second-team honor from a season ago.

In order to be eligible for selection the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, a student-athlete must hold a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of their team's scheduled contests.

Each of the three Trojan seniors received their undergraduate degrees earlier this month. Kremer graduated with a degree in communication from the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism with a 3.72 cumulative grade-point average. Belton completed her bachelor of science in human biology and graduated from the Dornsife School of Letters, Arts, and Sciences. Cannon finished her degree in accounting from the Leventhal School of Accounting.

Belton and Kremer each collected over 100 victories in their careers. This season, Belton was 27-14 overall. Kremer finished the year with a 23-8 mark, and Cannon was 31-9.

The Women of Troy (27-14) finished as the runner-up at the Pac-12 Championship and were chosen as one of two at-large selections into the 2018 NCAA Championship. The Trojans advanced to the Saturday final at the championship and finished in fourth place. Seventh-year head coach Anna Collier collected her 170th victory this season.Â
