USC Sets Two School Records At Mt. SAC Relays

Terry sets women's 100m record & is part of the W-4x100m relay record
The women's 4x100m relay team won with a school-record time, TeeTee Terry set the USC women's 100m record and Michael Norman won the Invitational 400m race at the Mt. SAC Relays held at El Camino College in Torrance, Calif. and Courtney Corrin won the long jump at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif. to highlight the action by the track and field team today (April 21). In USC's first five races of the day at Mt. SAC, it set two school records, two school freshman records and posted six USC all-time top 10 marks.

MT. SAC RELAYS:
- USC's women's 4x100m relay team of Angie Annelus, Kendall Ellis, Deanna Hill and TeeTee Terry won the Invitational race with a school-record time of 42.57. Their time is also second in the country this season. The 4x100m field was loaded, including a USA Team which featured Allyson Felix, Jenna Prandini and Destinee Brown, as well as the Oregon team.
- Terry then picked up another school record by winning the women's 100m Invitational with a PR of 10.99 (+1.7). She broke the USC school and freshman record of 11.04 set by Olympian Angela Williams in 1999. Terry's time is the top wind-legal time in the country so far this season, with 2016 Olympic silver medalist Tori Bowie in second at 11.04.
- Michael Norman and Rai Benjamin went 1-2 in the men's 400m Invitational race, both with PRs. Norman ran 44.53 to better his third-place standing and Benjamin ran 44.74 to move into sixth on USC's all-time list in the event. Â
- Kendall Ellis placed third in the women's 400m Invitational with a time of 51.43. Kaelin Roberts won the first heat and finished fourth overall with a PR and USC freshman-record time of 51.99. Roberts also moved to eighth on USC's all-time list, a list which Ellis sits at the top of with a best of 50.00.
- Dior Hall placed third in the women's 100m hurdles Invitational with a season-best time of 12.85 (+1.5). Anna Cockrell was fourth in the hurdles with a PR-tying time of 12.89 (+1.5) and Chanel Brissett won the first heat and was fifth overall with a PR of 12.94 (+1.9), USC had the top three collegiate finishers. Brissett moved from seventh to sixth on USC's all-time list in the event.
- Cockrell came back to place third in the women's 400m hurdles Invitational with a season-best time of 56.66, tops among the college runners. Shante Robinson placed seventh (second in her heat) with a PR of 58.61. Former USC Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad won the event with a time of 55.25.
- Hill took fourth in the women's 200m Invitational with a time of 23.05 (+1.6). Angie Annelus won the first heat of the 200m and finished fifth overall with a time of 23.07 (+2.5w).
- Nick Ponzio placed second in the men's shot put Invitational with a season-best mark of 62-1.75 (18.94m). Matthew Katnik, redshirting this season, competed unattached and placed third with a best throw of 59-7.75 (18.18m).
- Breana Jemison closed the action for the Trojans at Mt. SAC by taking second in the women's shot put Invitational with a best mark of 54-11.25 (16.74m).
 BEACH INVITATIONAL:
- Courtney Corrin won the women's long jump with a wind-aided season-best leap of 21-2.25/6.47m (+3.9w). Madisen Richards took second in the long jump with a wind-aided PR of 20-8.00/6.30m (+2.6w) and Alexa Harmon-Thomas finished 62nd with a jump of 14-6.50/4.43m (-0.3).
- Eric Sloan opened up his outdoor season with a best triple jump of 51-9.75/15.79m (+1.1) to place third, tops among college athletes at the competition. Dominic Smallwood had a best triple jump of 49-3.50/15.02m (+0.8) to finish 14th.
- Earnest Sears placed fourth in the men's high jump with a clearance of 6-10.75 (2.10m).
- Harmon Thomas came back to tie for sixth in the women's high jump with a clearance of 5-7.00 (1.70m) and Cassidy Palka tied for 20th with a clearance of 5-5.00 (1.65m).
- Jadon Joyner placed 25th in the men's long jump with a best leap of 22-9.00/6.93m (+0.0).
- Michael Gonzalez had a clearance of 15-7.00 (4.75m) to place 37th in the men's pole vault.
