Both Men's & Women's T&F Teams Win MPSF Titles

Trojans win 8 individual titles on the final day of championship
Dior Hall, Kyra Constantine, Rai Benjamin, TeeTee Terry, T.J. Brock, Robert Ford, Randall Cunningham and Nick Ponzio all won individual titles and both the men's and women's teams took home the team titles during a dominating final day at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championships held at Dempsey Indoor in Seattle, Wash today (Feb. 24). The women's team scored 122 points to win their fourth title in five years, while the men's team won with 107 points, its second title in three seasons. The women's team beat second-place Stanford by 24 points, while the men's team beat second-place BYU by 31.5 points.
- Hall won the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 7.99. Anna Cockrell was third in the same heat and third overall with a time of 8.14. Chanel Brissett won her heat and placed fourth overall with a time of 8.24. The trio earned USC 21 points.
- Marquis Morris won his 60m hurdles final heat and placed third overall, tying his season best with a time of 7.94. He earned USC six points in the team competition.
- Constantine won the women's 400m race with a slight PR of 52.73. Her time bettered her seventh-place standing on USC's all-time indoor list and earned the Trojans 10 points. Kennedy Gillian had a PR of 55.96 to finish 17th and Kayla Richardson had a false start.
- The men's 400m runners Benjamin, Zach Shinnick and Ricky Morgan Jr. finished 1-3, all setting PRs and breaking the previous track record. Benajmin won with a time of 45.94 to move to second on USC's all-time list in the event. Shinnick had a time of 45.96 (.951) to take second and move into third on USC's all-time list. Morgan Jr. had a time of 45.96 (.956) to finish third, with the fourth-fastest time in school history. The trio earned the Trojans 24 points.
- The women really put the meet away with the results of the 60m dash as Terry was first (7.29), Deanna Hill second (7.30), Ky Westbrook third (7.34), Angie Annelus fifth (7.40) and Zaria Francis sixth (7.41). The five women earned the Trojans 31 points in the event.
- Brock was first (6.67) and Barnum second (6.68) in the men's 60m dash. The pair earned the Trojans 18 points.
- Robert Ford won his third consecutive MPSF 800m title, winning today with a time of 1:49.85. He earned USC another 10 points. Alex Rohani placed 17th with a time of 1:55.01.
- Cunningham won the men's high jump title for the second consecutive season, this time with a clearance of 7-3.25 (2.22m). Earnest Sears took fourth in the men's high jump with a PR of 6-11.75 (2.13m). Cunningham (10) and Sears (5) earned USC 15 points.
- Nick Ponzio won the men's shot put with his second-round mark of 64-4.50 (19.62m). His throw was a PR and moved him from fifth to third on USC's all-time list.
- Dominic Smallwood tied his triple jump PR with a leap of 51-1.50 (15.58) to take second place. He earned USC eight points.
- Alexa Harmon-Thomas had a high jump PR of 5-7.25 (1.71m) to finish 10th. She also moved into sixth on USC's all-time indoor high jump list.
- Breana Jemison placed sixth in the women's shot put with a best mark of 52-4.00 (15.95m). She earned USC three more points.
- Chloe Berry won her heat and placed 23rd overall in the women's one-mile race with a time of 4:58.42. Amber Gore was second in the same heat and finished 25th overall with a time of 4:58.79, just off her PR.
- The men closed out the meet with a 4x400m relay team of Shinnick, Ford, Rohani and Morris and it placed fourth with a time of 3:11.70 to earn five points.
- The women's team of Kaelin Roberts, Shante Robinson, Richardson and Gillian took second with a time of 3:35.86, which is the ninth-fastest time in school history. The women's relay team earned eight more points for the Trojans.
