The Trojans continued preparation for their crosstown showdown at the Rose Bowl this weekend.
- USC head coach Clay Helton announced that there are no changes from yesterday's injury report.
- Helton said the focus of the week is to keep UCLA's fast paced offense off of the field. "Offensively, primarily on third downs, I think it's always important when you play a Coach [Chip] Kelly team to keep that offense off the field."
- USC defensive coordinator Clancy Prendergast said that he was pleased with the performance of freshman defensive end Jacob Lichtenstein against Cal and looks for him to do more in the future. "It's good to get him out there as a freshman and get him reps," Pendergast said. "He's played really solid and I'm really happy with where he's at."
- USC CB Iman Marshall said that he apologized to his teammates for his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the fourth quarter last Saturday's game. "On Monday, I addressed the team and apologized for my actions," Marshall said. That did have an effect on the game."
- Helton complimented the way Marshall handled the situation. "I thought it was really a pro move by Biggie and that's who he is," said Helton of the senior.
- Marshall was also very complimentary of his Helton and voiced his support for him. "I love the dude," Marshall said. "He's a great dude, he's a great person. And most importantly, he's done a lot for us. He's been very successful in his career since he's been the head coach here."
