KF - I love it here so far. It's so fun being here with the whole team, and getting to know everyone, and the campus is super nice. For my classes, Spanish actually surprised me. I actually enjoy taking Spanish now.
Â
Q - How has the transition from high school to college been?
Â
KF  - In high school, I actually did Running Start, so I went to a college my junior and senior years, so it's kind of the same… but not really. I mean, it's still a big transition, but I'm doing fine with it.
Â
Q - Was the transition from high school to college athletics more different?
Â
KF - Yeah, definitely. It's really different from high school. But I like it. Â I think it's helped me a lot, transitioning to California.
Â
Q - What inspired you to choose to major in Health and Human Science?
Â
KF - I just want to be an athletic trainer when I graduate, so, just being in sports my whole life, that interests me. I want to do that afterwards.
Â
Q - How about your long-term goals, just as an athlete?
Â
KF - I definitely want to keep throwing after I graduate from USC. I want to go pro and throw for a sponsor or something like that.
Â
Q - Do you have an athletic achievement from high school that you are most proud of?
Â
KF - It would have to be either winning the USATF Junior Olympics my junior year in the discus throw, or earning the Gatorade Athlete of the Year Award for the state of Washington.
Â
Q - What is your favorite memory from high school track and field?
Â
KF - I guess the most fun part of track would have been winning the triple crown my senior year of high school at State.
Â
Q - What are your goals this year both as a student and an athlete?
Â
KF - As a student, I definitely want to keep a good and high GPA for all my classes, I want to pass them all with really good grades, and then athletics-wise I just want to improve on my senior year, improve my marks and my mindset and everything. And I want to make it to NCAAs and hopefully we can win again this year.
Â
Q - What have you enjoyed most about joining the team this year?
Â
KF - I just like the whole team. I like the atmosphere here, everyone's super nice, and the coaches are great.
