No. 3 USC Maintains 9-Stroke Lead After Stanford Intercollegiate Second Round

Alyaa Abdulghany and Jennifer Chang card par rounds to lead Troy Saturday.
Sophomores Jennifer Chang and Alyaa Abdulghany both registered par rounds to lead the No. 3 USC women's golf team in the second round of the Stanford Intercollegiate on Saturday (Oct. 19), helping the Trojans maintain the lead 36 holes into the tournament.
The Trojans now sit at 10-under 558 (272-286), nine strokes ahead of second-place Northwestern while host Stanford is third at par.
A day after combining for a 272, among the top 5 rounds in program history, USC used a more workmanlike performance as the Trojans seek their second straight win.
Abdulghany established a collegiate best 67 on Friday and used a par round Saturday to move into fourth at 4-under 138 (67-71). She had four birdies on the day and is five strokes out of first.
Chang is tied for eighth at 2-under 140 (69-71) after her par round with three birdies. She is trying to pocket her 10th straight top 15 finish.
Sophomore Amelia Garvey (69-72) and freshman Malia Nam (67-74) are tied for 10th at 1-under 141. Nam shook off a 5-under front 9 to close with a 2-under back. Garvey had one birdie, two bogeys in her round.
Sophomore Gabriela Ruffels is tied for 19th at 1-over 143 (71-72). Coming off her first win in USC's last event, she had four birdies in her round.
