USC WR DEONTAY BURNETT DECLARES FOR 2018 NFL DRAFT

USC wide receiver Deontay Burnett announced today that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2018 NFL Draft.
"The NFL has been a lifelong dream of mine and I feel I am ready to take on this next challenge in my life," the Compton, Calif. native said in a post on his personal Twitter and Instagram.
Burnett, who prepped at Serra High School in Gardena, Calif., posted 86 receptions, 1,114 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns this year — all career-bests. He led the Pac-12 in receptions, ranked second in touchdown receptions and ranked third in receiving yards, earning Second Team All-Pac-12 honors.
In his three years at Troy, Burnett racked up a total of 152 catches, 1,897 yards and 16 scores, improving each season.
As a freshman in 2015, he had just 10 catches for 161 yards. As a sophomore, he stepped into the starting lineup midway through the season and posted 56 receptions, 622 yards and 7 touchdowns. As a junior, he started all 14 games and led the Trojans in all major receiving categories.
Burnett had a knack for showing up in the game's biggest moments. In early 2017, he tied a Rose Bowl record with 3 touchdown receptions. His 13 catches that day ranked second in Rose Bowl history and his 187 receiving yards ranked fourth. He made the 2016 AP All-Bowl Team first team, ESPN All-Bowl Team first team and ESPN Pac-12 All-Bowl Team first team for his impressive performance.
Last month, he set a Cotton Bowl record with 12 receptions and finished with a game-high 139 receiving yards.
The 2018 NFL Draft will take place from April 26-28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex. USC has had more players drafted than any other school in the nation, including more first round picks than any other school.
