Position: PK
Class: Freshman
Size: 6-foot-0, 190 lbs.
Age: 19
High School (Hometown): Mater Dei (Newport Beach, Calif.)
Game: McGrath arrived at USC this summer as a walk-on, and he was not expected to win the kicking job. But as Fall Camp progressed, he was the more accurate of the two choices. He had to wait until game three against Texas to get his first chance at a field goal and then promptly missed it. Since then, he's made seven consecutive, including one to beat the Longhorns in overtime.
Prep Career: As a senior at Mater Dei, McGrath hit 90-of-93 PATs and 3-of-5 field goals, and had 84 touchbacks on 106 kickoffs. As a junior in 2015, he hit all 62 of his PAT attempts and 10-of-13 field goals, and had 51 touchbacks on 85 kickoffs.
USC head coach Clay Helton on McGrath: "What a great job he's doing. You're starting to gain confidence as a coach, and you can see his confidence beaming right now."
Fun Fact: McGrath's favorite NFL kicker is Dan Bailey of the Dallas Cowboys.
