Trojan Town: Chris Hawkins

USC senior safety Chris Hawkins started playing football at a young age.
Too, young in fact.
His father, Armond, forged his and his brothers' birth certificates to let them start playing by the age of seven.
In Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Armond raised his children to be passionate students of the game. He would break down film with them after high school games and make sure that the family got the funds together to send them any out-of-state event they desired.
With his father's encouragement, Hawkins believed from a young age that he would play college football at USC. When he got the offer, becoming a Trojan was "a no-brainer."
Since arriving at Troy, Hawkins' performance and role have improved and increased. He was recently voted a USC football captain by his teammates, a position he feels he's been groomed for since his childhood in the Inland Empire.
