Felix Earns Record 15th World Championships Medal With Gold In 4x100m Relay

Allyson Felix earned her record-15th World Championships medal as part of USA's 4x100m relay team and Nia Ali placed eighth in the women's 100m hurdles final at the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London, England today (Aug. 12).
- Felix (USC, 2008) ran the second leg for USA's 4x100m relay which posted a world-leading time of 41.82 en route to earning the World Championships gold medal in the event, its first since the 2011 Championships. USA's women's 4x100m relay team advanced to the final by running a then-world-leading time of 41.84 in the semifinals earlier in the day. Felix ran the second leg in both races and now has earned 15 World Championships medals, more than any other athlete has ever won, breaking a tie with Usain Bolt and Merlene Ottey who have won 14.
- Ali (USC, 2011) finished eighth in the women's 100m hurdles final with a time of 13.04 (+0.1). She clipped the first hurdle which caused her to fall behind and she never was able to catch the pack over the final nine hurdles.
- Kendall Ellis (USC, 2018) ran the second leg for USA's 4x400m relay team which advanced to tomorrow's final with a world-leading time of 3:21.66
- In the men's 4x400m relay, Bryshon Nellum (USC, 2013) ran the second leg and Team USA won with a world-leading time of 2:59.23.
- BeeJay Lee (USC, 2015) helped the USA's men's 4x100m relay team reach the final by having the fastest semifinal and then-world-leading time of 37.70 in the morning. He did not run in the final, as USA earned a silver medal with a time of 37.52. Also in the men's 4x100m final, Aaron Brown (USC, 2014) ran the second leg for the Canadian team which finished sixth with a time of 38.59. Canada was the final relay team to qualify on time in the morning with a lap of 38.48 in the semifinals.
- Tynia Gaither (USC, 2016) was scheduled to run anchor for The Bahamas in the women's 4x100m semifinals, but they had a hand-off issue between the second and third leg and the baton never reached Gaither.
