Muhammad Earns 400m Hurdles Silver Medal At IAAF World Championships

Gaither advances to 200m final
Dalilah Muhammad earned the silver medal in the women's 400m hurdles and Tynia Gaither advanced to the women's 200m final at the 2017 IAAF World Championships in London, England today (Aug. 10).
- Muhammad (USC, 2012) earned the silver medal in the women's 400m hurdles by placing second with a time of 53.50. The 2016 Olympic champion Muhammad now also has two silver medals in the event (2013) at the World Championships.
- Gaither (USC, 2016) took fourth in the final women's 200m semifinal heat with a time of 22.85 to earn the last qualifying spot for the final on time. Both of the time qualifiers came from her heat as the third-place finisher had a time of 22.848 and Gaither 22.850. Gaither went into her heat knowing she had to be in the top two or finish in the top four and run under 22.96.
