Each year since 1993-94, the NACDA Learfield Directors' Cup has been awarded to the college athletic program that demonstrates the most overall excellence in a year.
USC has been a stronghold in the rankings, placing in the Top 10 in 15 of the 24 years since the Cup was created.
The Trojans have come on especially strong as of late, finishing fourth in each of the last two years. In a recent evaluation of the last five years, USC ranked fourth overall among Division I athletic programs.

USC has won at least one national title in each of the last five years, including two -- women's soccer and beach volleyball -- in 2016-17.
Yahoo's Pat Forde, who conducted the five-year analysis, deemed USC "steady" in terms of athletic excellence, noting that "[the] Trojans are predictably strong in virtually every sunshine-enhanced sport."
Trojan sports return in just over a month, as the defending national champion soccer team kicks off its 2017 season on Aug. 18 against UC Davis. Click here for tickets!
