LA Story: Daniel and Josh Imatorbhebhe
July 26, 2017 | Football, USC Ripsit Blog, Features
Since 1880, USC has been a beacon in Los Angeles. Though a big portion of the university's population is homegrown, students and student-athletes come from all over the world to join the Trojan Family.
For USC's pass-catching tandem of Daniel and Josh Imatorbhebhe, Southern California was always a dream.
Born in the Golden State but raised in Suwanee, Ga., the Imatorbhebhe brothers grew up reminiscing on photos of California's blue skies and beaches. When they visited USC, it managed to exceed their expectations.
"If you're not from California, you have this perception of what it's going to be like," said Daniel. When we came out here, everything was how we imagined it to be and better. I think that's when we fell in love with USC, and it was a love that grew. It's such a dream come true just being here."
Since arriving at USC, the brothers have come to appreciate more than just the weather.
"As I became a student-athlete here, I got to meet and connect with different people on campus, and I began to really appreciate how different people are here … I have friends from China, Taiwan, India and all over the world," said Josh. "What lured me here was the glitz, the glamour, the fun and the excitement, but what made me appreciate being here was the perspective I gained from the people I'm surrounded by."
